Redundancy – Global Configuration

You can configure more than one FireProof device on a network such that one (the backup device) will back up another (the main device). In this case, a failure of any network interface on the main FireProof will fail the whole device, and the backup device, previously idle, will take over all activity.

To enable the backup device:

  1. From the FireProof menu, point at Redundancy and choose Global Configuration.
The Global Redundancy Configuration window opens.
  2. In the Global Redundancy Configuration window, ensure that that IP Redundancy Admin Status is enabled.
  3. Ensure that Interface Grouping is disabled.
  4. Click .
    Your changes are made.
  5. Configure IP Router Redundancy.

To enable the main device:

  1. From the FireProof menu, point at Redundancy and choose Global Configuration.
The Global Redundancy Configuration window opens.
  2. In the Global Redundancy Configuration window, ensure that that IP Redundancy Admin Status is disabled.
  3. Ensure that Interface Grouping is enabled.
  4. Click .
    Your changes are made.
