Creating a Role
Create a role to implement role security. The same procedure is used for creating a role as is used for creating a user. The difference is that you need not supply a password for a role.

To create a role

  1. Open the Security tool of the Netscape Application Server Administrator.
  2. Go to the Users and Groups tab.
  3. Click New User.
  4. The New User dialog box appears.

  5. Under Username, enter the name for the role.
  6. (Optional) Under Description, enter a description for the role.
  7. (Optional) Under Password, enter a password for the role and retype the password in the Confirm Password box.
  8. It is not necessary to specify a password for a role.

  9. To add the role to a group, select the group or groups the role is to be a member of and add your selection to the Member of box.
