Adding a Java Server or C++ Server
Add a Java Server or C++ Server process to increase the fault tolerance of the Java and C++ applications, respectively, running on the Netscape Application Server. For more information about increasing process fault tolerance, see "About Adding and Tuning Java Server and C++ Server Processes."

You would also add a Java Server or C++ Server process to implement a multi-process/single-threaded environment. For more information about implementing a multi-process/single-threaded environment, see "About Implementing a Multi-Process/Single-Threaded Environment."

To add a Java Server process

  1. Open the Configuration tool of the Netscape Application Server Administrator.
  2. In the Enterprise window, select the Netscape Application Server to which you want to add the Java Server process.
  3. Choose File - Add Process.
  4. The Add Process dialog box appears.

  5. In Process, choose Java Server.
  6. In Port Number, specify an unused port number at which the additional process is to run.
  7. If this process is to be used in a single-threaded environment, select the process and set the Initial, Minimum, and Maximum Request Threads to 1.
  8. Click Apply Changes to save your changes to the Netscape Application Server.
