Adjusting Asynchronous Thread Parameters
Adjust the number of threads available for asynchronous database queries to increase the performance of the applications running on the Netscape Application Server. If the applications running on the Netscape Application Server execute many asynchronous queries, you might want to increase the available threads for these queries. If the applications execute only synchronous queries, you might want to decrease the number of available threads.

To adjust asynchronous thread parameters

  1. Open the Database tool of the Netscape Application Server Administrator.
  2. In the Enterprise window, select the database for which you want to adjust the asynchronous thread parameters.
  3. For the 2.0 release, all databases use the same setting. Therefore any adjustments you make for a database applies to all of the databases to which the server connects.

  4. In the Information window, in Request Thread, enter the new minimum and/or maximum values.
  5. Click Apply Settings to save the changes to the Netscape Application Server.
