Introduction

The Administration Guide guide leads you through the optimization tasks that you perform on the Netscape Application Server.

Most of the administration tasks are performed using the Netscape Application Server Administrator, a GUI-based tool for server and application administration. For more information about this tool, see "About the Netscape Application Server Administrator."

The Administration Guide contains four parts.

Part I: Getting Started

The first part of Administration Guide covers the architecture and environment of the Netscape Application Server as well as describing how to configure the sample applications.

Part II: Administering a Single Netscape Application Server

The second part of Administration Guide covers server and application administration procedures for a single Netscape Application Server. The procedures covered are those that you are most likely to do right away, such as

Part III: Administering Multiple Netscape Application Servers

The third part of the Administration Guide covers administering multiple Netscape Application Servers. The topics cover more in-depth administration procedures and concepts, such as

These procedures focus solely on multiple server administration, and are used with the single-server procedures that are described in Part II.

Part IV: Troubleshooting Typical Problems

The last part of the Administration Guide covers administration troubleshooting issues and some detail information, such as database registry parameters.
