About Distributed Data Synchronization and Load Balancing
When you create an enterprise consisting of multiple Netscape Application Servers, you need to know whether you are going to be balancing user-request loads across those servers. Applications that are distributed for load balancing might have dependencies on the distributed sychronization service of the Netscape Application Server if those applications require state and session management.

Distributed data synchronization is configured during the installation of a Netscape Application Server. The installation script asks whether the server being installed is going to be a participant in distributed data synchronization, as well as the host and port of the primary server. For more information about distributed data synchronization, see "About Distributed Data Synchronization."
