Specifying the Netscape Application Server to Which the Web Server Connects
In a multiple Netscape Application Server enterprise, you can specify to which Netscape Application Server the Web connector sends application requests.

If you have enabled load balancing, the load balancer plug-in first dictates to which server the request is forwarded. If this decision is not made, however, the Web connector forwards the request to the specified Netscape Application Server. For more information about the Web connector, see "Installing Multiple Netscape Application Servers."

To specify the Netscape Application Server to which the Web server connects

  1. Open the registry editor by typing kregedit at the command prompt.
  2. The registry editor opens and displays the keys and values that apply to the Netscape Application Server.

For Windows NT, use regedit and start at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\KIVA.

  3. Open the following key:
  4. KIVA\\Enterprise\\2.0\\HTTPAPI

  5. Double-click the GXIP String value.
  6. The String editor dialog box appears.

  7. For the value data, enter the host IP address for the default Netscape Application Server and click OK.
  8. Double-click the GXPortNum DWORD value.
  9. The DWORD editor dialog box appears.

  10. For the value data, enter the port number for the Executive Server process of the same Netscape Application Server and click OK.
  11. Close the registry editor.
